Snow Much Fun for MOJO 137
Posted on November 1st, 2013
It’s snowing again in West Texas. Well, in my craft room, anyway… This week’s MOJO Monday challenge is to go round or square, even though the square is full of round itself! All these circles and different areas underneath had me wondering how to unite the elements without the card seeming busy or cluttered. At one point, I joked that it could be a snowman that fell apart, and then it hit me. Out came the Winter Frost DSP, the Snow Much Fun stamp set, and some snowflakes. The largest circle seemed a little too bare, so I lightly stamped some tiny snowflakes on it to make it seem as if Mr. Snowman is throwing snowballs while the snow is still falling. For a little bling, I pulled back out my clear snowflakes & brads. Last, I added a touch of glitter on the snowman’s snowball, as well as the snowball the little bird is perched upon.
This card is actually a hybrid; I used My Digital Studio to create the circle that has the message from the stamp set going around it. I added a stitched circle outside the message to give it the appearance of a snowball. I love the fact that My Digital Studio uses the Stampin’ Up! colors so that images printed out exactly match the ones I stamp with ink. Since I wasn’t creating an entire card with the software, I only printed one page. (When you are about to print the project, the program gives you the option of choosing which pages to print.) Once I printed it, I placed the die over the circle and ran it through the Big Shot.
NOTE! Stampin’ Up! is offering 30% off of a large selection of downloads for My Digital Studio for this month. Now would be a great time to give the program a try, as you can download a 30-day free trial on the Stampin’ Up! website.
