Here it is! My very first craft video. I have a lot to learn, but I’m posting this first effort as a commitment to keep improving by making more videos. The card I’m describing is the one I made for our January blog hop that went live yesterday.
Now I’m off to figure out how to customize my YouTube channel.
I was hoping that you would include the measurements of the tower pieces etc. so that I could make one of these cards.
You have a lovely voice for making videos. Would also like to see the how to’s as you are talking.
Glad you are making videos now. It is my favorite tool for learning the how to’s of a card.
Thanks for the kind feedback, Patricia. I was basically working up the courage to actually make a video and upload it to YouTube with this first video. Your comment has given me just the encouragement that I need to make another video. I will include more specific “how to” instructions and try my hand at demonstrating some of the techniques next time. I, too, love it when people give specific information in their videos. Many times, I watch with a pencil and paper in hand to jot down information!
To answer your questions about sizing, the finished size of the card is 5.5″ x 4.25.” I simply cut an 8.5″ x 11″ piece of cardstock into two 8.5″ x 5.5″ pieces. The tower piece is 1.75″ x 1.25″, and the top piece is .75″ tall. I just cut the top piece into a rectangle and the cut the notches out free form. The Pool Party waves are 7/8″ tall at their peaks. I actually traced the curves of the waves using the Striped Scallop thinlit which is unfortunately retired.
