Joyful Tags

Good news! I have my stamping mojo humming, and I’ve completed several cards and tags from all the bits and pieces I’ve been making in spare moments this past week or two.
These tags are definitely for someone special, as they took a while to make. They will probably adorn a treat and act as a small card, too. Sometimes a quick tag is best, but other times I like to send the message that the recipient is special to me and well worth the effort.
The wreath is from the Peaceful Wreath stamp set and coordinating thinlit set. I’ve enjoyed using last year’s Wonderous Wreath set with its modern design, but I love a country Christmas look, too. I layered the wreath with a thin cardboard wreath to give it more body and adhered it to the tag with dimensionals. I used a gold uni-ball Signo pen to trim the edge of the little banner in the center of the wreath. The gold cording really pops against the Real Red cardstock–love it!
Of course, a tag needs a place to write the “to” and “from.” I punched another tag out of Very Vanilla and used stamps from the Oh, What Fun set. That one set has SO many great stamps! Several of those images will find their way onto projects throughout the year.
Next project is to make some cute gift bags and boxes for those treats I mentioned. The Christmas season is my very favorite one for many reasons, one of which is all the fun I have making goodies for people I love.
I hope you are having a joyful December. I understand how sad it can be when you’ve lost someone special. It took me a number of years to shake off the grief of my mother’s passing, as she loved everything about Christmas and gave us many traditions and memories. I still tear up when I unpack some of the trays and mugs she gave me over the years, but I’m thankful, too, for the sweet memories.
Thanks for stopping by today. Check back tomorrow to see some of the cards I’ll be sending out next week to friends and family.
