This week’s awesome Freshly Made Sketch inspired me! As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew what DSP I would use. I love the Irresistibly Yours DSP in the SU 2015 Sale-A-Bration catalog. It’s one of those papers that you have to see to really appreciate, as each sheet is embossed all over with one of six glossy white patterns. Capturing the glossy embossing on a photo presented a challenge, though; it took several attempts before the light reflected off the embossing.

Nothing is classier than navy and white, unless it’s adding a touch of gold, right? To achieve this look, I cut the card base (4.25 x 5.5) from Night of Navy cardstock. I used narrow strips of the blue swirls from the Birthday Bash DSP and cut super thin strips of gold foil paper to edge the main panel.

I chose the sentiment from the Painted Petals stamp set, as I LOVE what it says. I knew that I had to have the set when I saw that sentiment because I have several friends whom I consider family. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the 2″ circle punch. The navy mat was cut from the one of the Circle Framelit Collections. The banner was cut using two of the Banners Framelits. I cut the gold banner from the next largest size, adhered it under the navy banner and then trimmed the gold foil down to a narrow strip. Unfortunately, the photo doesn’t really do the card justice, as the touch of gold makes the navy banner really pop–take my word for it!

This card went together quickly, and I know that I will use this design numerous times, possibly today. Thanks, Narelle for such an awesome design!

By the way, since the Irresistibly Yours DSP is a Sale-A-Bration item, it won’t be available after March 31. The good news is that it is free with a $50 purchase!
