Ever wish you had some paper to write a note or make a list when you are away from home? I have many times. Problem is that when I toss a pad of paper into my purse, it ends up bent and marked on. Some might not mind that, but I do; maybe it’s the English teacher in me? Whatever, I was so excited to find a pretty solution to my dilemma, and I’m happy to share it with you.
The case is an empty Stampin’ Up! Clear Stamp Case. I have several of these stashed in a drawer because I consolidate two-case sets into one case to save space on my shelf. I hadn’t found a good use for them until I came across this idea online. If you don’t have any extras taking up drawer space, you can purchase the empty cases online in sets of four.
I used a 10.75″x7″ piece of Painted Blooms DSP from the SU Occasions Catalog for my cover. Just cut the paper, open up the case, and slip the paper into the plastic sleeve. Simple as that!
Here’s what is inside of the case:
- A tablet of lined paper (Cut one inch off bottom, adhere DSP strip over the binding, and use a couple of strips of Sticky Tape to attach it inside the case.)
- An envelope for receipts, notes, etc. (I made mine out of cardstock using the Envelope Punch Board.)
- A stack of sticky notes (Ever want to leave someone a note or stick one on your dash?)
- Thin pencil
As you can see, I lined the envelope with a piece of Birthday Bash DSP and attached a velcro circle so that the envelope will remain closed. Without the Velcro, my envelope flap would probably end up bent (and you can tell from my previous remarks that neatness counts with me–wink!).
I actually gave this case to my daughter as a Valentines Day gift because she is a busy mother of two who is a leader in her MOPS group. Fear not, though, I will have my own just as soon as I can gather the supplies and sit down at my craft table.
Does it get any better than finding a way to recycle and end up with something both practical and pretty? Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
