Chocolate-treat-holderI’ve taken the plunge and agreed to sell some of my Stampin’ Up! creations at a fundraiser for my daughter’s MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group.  Lisa Pretto of InkBig challenged us in a webinar recently to go with our passion and try taking part in a craft fair as a way to become comfortable being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. I’ve always gone a little crazy making holiday treats for co-workers over the years, and being retired for all of two months, I decided to turn my craziness into a selling venture. I know one thing for sure: I would starve to death if I had to support myself on what I can produce in one day! (Thank GOODNESS for teacher retirement…)  However, I’m having a good time stamping, cutting paper, and planning.

The treat holders in the picture are just one of the items that I intend to sell. I found the idea on Heidi Boos’ blog, Stuck on Stamping. I changed very little other than using different DSP and stamping snowflakes in Old Olive onto the Always Artichoke cardstock base. The sentiment is from the Sweet Season stamp set that I will keep forever and will to my daughter (can you tell that it’s one of my favorites?).  The candies are Ghirardrdelli Peppermint Bark with Dark Chocolate Squares.

The base is 3″ X 8″ and is scored at 3 14/16″ & 4 2/16.”  The candy slips in a slot made with the Word Window Punch. I punched two 1/8″ holes at the top to run the ribbon through. They go together quickly (unless you are trying to make 20 in one afternoon, and then it seems like forever… ha!)

Thanks for taking a few minutes to stop by my blog. Check in again tomorrow; I’m posting one of my projects each day until I run out of time and/or the energy to make still more goodies.
