I know, I know… Halloween is long past for this year.  Even though I’m about a week late posting this photo, I decided to go ahead because I want to share what a difference having my treats packaged made.  I’ve gotten to where I dread Halloween, and some years we have even found reasons not to be home. Even grocery shopping at night was better than facing kids who bang on the door and have the temerity to ask for more candy than you have just put in their sack. Well, one more perk of retirement is that I had time to analyze the situation and decide that I didn’t want to miss seeing the little bitty ones in their costumes. My solution? Put the candies together in a treat bag with handmade topper (one per customer, please).  As far as crafting, it was a win/win situation.  I am trying to use up my retired DSP paper stacks, and I love using the bracket punch and Tags 4 You stamps!

I’m happy to report that only one fella (who was probably a little old to be trick-or-treating) had the audacity to complain about receiving only one treat bag. Many were surprised to see the little package, and several remarked that they were cute and thanked me. It was the best Halloween I’ve had since my  boys were little. I am reminded that when we change our own attitudes and give a part of ourselves to others, we are the ones who receive the biggest reward. That’s how it worked for me this year.

Thanks for stopping by and spending a few minutes with me today!
