June 2018 Blog Hop: Enjoy Life!
Posted on June 1st, 2018
Welcome to our Di’s Country INKers May blog hop. Today we are featuring projects using products from the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! catalog that goes live TODAY!
I’ve chosen the new Enjoy Life stamp set that Connie Fitzgerald helped design. When I saw the bike rider and read the greetings, I knew this set would be one of my first purchases out of the new catalog. My older son has been training for an Ironman triathlon. He rides his bike at least 25 miles 4-5 times a week, so the words “Wake Up. Kick butt. Repeat.” are perfect for his card.
In order to picture him riding along a road, I used watercolor paper as the base and applied a wash of Balmy Blue for the sky and Call Me Clover for the grass. I cut the road from Basic Gray CS and used the Stampin’ Write Chalk Marker to create the stripes and lines. The biker is stamped in Fresh Fig onto Whisper White CS and fussy cut. I applied him to the road using several Stampin’ Up! Mini Dimensionals. The greeting is cut out using the smallest Stitched Shape circle. To create the Pineapple Punch yellow mat, I traced around the outside of the framelit circle and cut it out by hand. The panel is attached to a Call Me Clover card.
Watercolor Tip: The new ink pad cases are too rigid to press ink into the lids. Instead, I lightly pressed one of the clear sheets off the back of the stamp set onto the ink pad (see photo). I will eventually purchase the ink refills, but for now this works well.
Thanks for stopping by! The next stop on our hop is Trisha’s blog; just click on the Next Blog image on the left to travel over to see what she has shared. (You can also use the blog roll included below.)

Great tips on coloring with the ink pads, will have to check that out. Great card too, that stamp set is on my wish list as well.
Such a creative way to use the bike stamp set – nice layout that tells a story! Hope to see you next month.
Nice card my son has entered MS bike rdes .
Oh Connie, I knew you would love this set! So cool eh with the silouettes, and I can’t spell that word..ha! Definitely get the refills, but if you turn the pad over and push from the bottom instead of the top like we are used to you can get the ink on the lid. Weird eh, but it works.
Hugs, Di
Wow, Connie! Makes me want to get my bike out and hit the road – love it!
Great job Connie! Your son will love it. Good idea on the tip for getting ink…since I don’t have the reinkers get either!
