Nothing says birthday party quite like a bunch of colorful balloons. Add a marching band of cute little storybook animals to make it a real celebration. This card front is a piece cut out of the Birthday Memories DSP in the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog mounted to a 6″ square piece of Pacific Point cardstock. The whole sheet is so cute that I had to talk myself into cutting it, but I don’t do 12×12″ scrapbooking, and I just couldn’t relegate these cute fellas to my stash of “maybe some project will be worthy of this paper” pile.

Do you catch yourself saving paper and embellishments for an extra special project that somehow never happens? I imagine that it’s a type of hoarding (gasp!). How crazy is that attitude anyway? Do I think that the next catalog won’t have really awesome paper and embellishments in it? On top of that, what really makes those papers special is using them to make a card or gift for someone special. I need a poster over my craft table that says “People are special to us, not pieces of paper!”

You can see that the card hardly needed any other details. I did tie some silver cord along the left edge, and the small banner is from the Big on Birthdays stamp set. It is a photopolymer set, making it easy for me to place the stamp accurately.

It seemed appropriate to go bold on the inside as well. I used a strip of white glitter Washi Tape with a strip of DSP along the left side and adhered the greeting that I die cut out of Pacific Point cardstock using the Happy Birthday Thinlits die.

Thanks for stopping by. Today is your day, too! Hope it’s a great one!
