Pieces of Holiday Happiness

I’m sharing more of my playful stamping that I’ve been managing to do in odd moments the past few weeks. I’m trying hard not to let a day go by without doing SOMETHING in my craft room (besides cleaning it!). I’ve been finding myself so busy this past month that some days it isn’t until the supper dishes are washed up that I have time for crafts. For instance, Ken & I spent the day with our kids and grandkids wandering through Christmas at Old Fort Concho. My granddaughter and I learned about 1800’s methods of cooking and doing laundry. I was fascinated to learn that pioneer women made their own starch by grating raw potatoes and leaving them in the sun to dry. Then when they needed to iron, they threw a couple of handfuls of the dried potato into a pan of hot water and stirred it with a wax candle. The wax finish made the clothing able to shed water a little. I say thank goodness for Sta-Flo Liquid Starch and a husband who prefers to starch and iron his own jeans!
As I mentioned yesterday, even taking time to stamp a couple of images or fussy cut a few images from Designer Series Paper (think Santa from the Home for Christmas DSP) keeps my mojo humming.
I love order and neatness, but if I put everything away and out of sight, it might be a week before I sit down to create something. So these little cuties are scattered along the shelf on my desk, leaning against my punches where they whisper to me to sit down and play.
Do you ever find days flying by since you last took time for stamping? What have you found motivates you to consistently sit down at your craft table?
