Happy Birthday FMS176
Posted on March 7th, 2015
Thirty-four years ago today I was a tired but happy new mom, having just delivered our elder son. It’s hard to believe that it’s been that many years, though. Seems like only a year or two ago he was a senior in high school, eager to graduate and go off to college. That cliche about your kids growing up right before your eyes is too true. However, I really enjoy my adult sons’ friendship and company.
I made this card for him using this week’s Freshly Made Sketches design. I rarely think to make a long, thin card, so it was a fun challenge. Since I wanted to use the candle paper from the Birthday Basics DSP, I pulled out the retired Bring on the Cake stamp set for the greeting. The ribbon is Raspberry Ripple from a previous Sale-A-Bration. The clean design and darker color worked well for a masculine card. I admit that I tend to make “girlie” cards most of them time unless I purposely set out to make one more masculine.
Have a great day and maybe a little cake, too!
This is such a fabulous birthday card! I love your choices of colours – they look fabulous against all that white space! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
