March Blog Hop
Posted on March 1st, 2015
It’s time again for a Di’s Country INKers blog hop. Our theme this month is Easter. Easter always seems to sneak up on me, maybe because stores put out their Easter candy and toys the day after Valentines. It seems like I have so much time, and then I’m frantically trying to get things made at the last minute. So even though Easter is in April this year, it isn’t too soon to help out the Easter bunny by making those cards and treat holders.
The project I’m sharing today is a little basket/box that I made using the Stampin’ Up! Gift Box Punch Board and a 9″x9″ piece of the Best Year Ever DSP. Stamps are from the For Peeps’ Sake stamp set. To make the EGG-CELLENT blue, I used Diana’s tip about stamping an image twice in contrasting colors and then placing a contrasting strip onto the main image. (Such a great tip!)
I apologize for showing the basket without any goodies in it. I intended to buy some when I went grocery shopping, but we have been iced over for several days with temperatures in the low 20’s. Our weather is mild compared to what other areas are experiencing, but any ice at all cripples us here in West Texas. However, by the time you are reading this post, we should be back up above freezing. Yes!!
To make the handle, I cut a one inch strip of Pool Party cardstock and lined it with the same DSP used for the box. I stamped the flowering vine (Thoughts & Prayers stamp set) in Coastal Cabana ink to add some dimension. I punched both ends of the handle with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch before adhering it to the basket with Sticky Strip. The buttons are from the Best Ever Accessory Pack, and the bows are tied with Early Expresso Baker’s Twine.
This little box was easy to make and didn’t take too long. If you have the Gift Box Punch Board, I recommend you give it a try!
Thanks for spending a few minutes with me. Your next stop on the hop will be Erin at A Grasshoppers Life.

What a cute basket! Perfect for any treats! Really like the handle and extra touches on your tags.
So cute!! Are the top flaps just folded in then?
Yes, Barb. I stuck them down on the inside with Sticky Strip.
I love it and loved that you made a basket and not a box. No worries about the treats, I bought some for an event and now I have to go buy more cause I ate half of them..ha! Hugs, Di
Thanks, Diana. You are probably right; I would have eaten them myself long before Easter!
Thanks, Crystal!
What a cute basket!!! FUN!!!
